ROOTED is our strategic initiative to deepen Discover Church’s roots in each community we serve so we can see lasting impact in the next decade and beyond.

We believe God has positioned us for a defining season. What we prepare today will determine what we’re able to sustain tomorrow.

Cori's story is beautiful proof that Jesus does change lives and He uses His church and people to do it. What began as skepticism and self-reliance slowly became surrender as God met her through a child’s simple question and the bright shining light of a believer. He transformed her marriage, parenting, friendships, and ultimately her identity. What she once tried to control, she now trusts to Jesus. We are so glad Cori opened her hear to be formed by Christ because she is now making a huge impact!

Our Posture

We are not choosing an option in advance. We are positioning ourselves to discern the right option, for the right campus, at the right time.

Truth is, we’re not 100% sure the exact number.  But based on our research of the kind of space we would need, $2 million would give us the flexibility for either a down payment or a buildout.

We don’t know.  Until we’ve come close to our goal, all we can do is window shop.  So for now, we don’t have a timeline or a location.  But as God provides opportunities, we’ll inform the church.

We don’t know yet.  But we’re believing God has the perfect place for us to continue to serve the Northland.

Just as a seed progresses from being planted in a pot to eventually taking root in the soil, a church follows a similar path of growth. Before it can become permanently established in a community, a campus must first learn to thrive as a self-sustaining portable campus where it develops strength, stability, and healthy systems.  From there, we’ll look to lead the Liberty campus to having momentum that will create the margin needed to move from the pot to the soil (permanent home).

There are four critical areas where we’ve set benchmarks. Those areas include average attendance, total new guests per month, number of people serving and total giving.  Once the campus is consistently surpassing the metrics we’ve set for those benchmarks, we’ll see the campus as being self-sustaining.

  • Average attendance = 200/week
  • Total new guests = 16/month
  • Number of people serving = enough so that each dream team member can sit one/serve one.
  • Total giving = cost of ministry, staffing, and operational needs required to serve the community effectively.
